Is that something in Hebrew at the edge of the pool, and what is the significance of the “No Diving”’ being written backwards from right to left like Hebrew?
I’ve often thought that with Gaza’s beach front, they could open several Club Meds and other resort areas. Plus add solar panels and wave generators for power and they could have the good live by the sea. Too bad Hamas was more into total destruction of Israel and less about what’s good for their people. Eliminating Hamas is good for Israel and the Palestinians, as well.
In that vein, will you start putting “occupied” in front of every state name. For example, would you say I live in occupied Colorado and you have a court case in occupied California?
My initial reaction to this is the date stamp on the upper left corner. In 20 years an infant that lost its mother, father and it’s whole family will be coming of age as an adult. No amount of annihilating the Gaza landscape today will erase the embitterment, the rage, and the hate from the soul. This is the future. We must deal with the ugly consequences of war, and weak short term distorted thinking of today’s “leaders” whose motivation is to get re-elected to office (or stay out of jail). So sad. We should be better than this.

“Instead of their old promises that collectivism would create universal abundance and their denunciations of capitalism for creating poverty, they are now denouncing capitalism for creating abundance. Instead of promising comfort and security for everyone, they are now denouncing people for being comfortable and secure.”
Wonder if the Arab world (and Ted) will ever recognize that the Levant is the ancestral and unceded territory of the Hebrew people. Or that the majority of Israeli Jews have never been Ashkenazi or Sephardic, but Mizrahi, those who continued to live in the Levant, Middle East, and Arab lands.
Netanyahu’s policies would make it so. So far, he’s been stopped by Obama and now Biden. The U.S. must uphold our pledge to guarantee Israel’s right to exist, and not expand by agreements made. It is time that the Palestinians accept a two state solution with the U.S. guaranteeing their right to exist.
Other than a few Israeli equivalents of Matt Gaetz & Nick Fuentes, I see no serious evidence Israel thinks they can occupy Gaza without causing a diplomatic crisis. The serious discussion is whether post-war Gazan security should be handled by the IDF, the PA or a peacekeeping coalition from Arab states. None of the latter seem to be interested in the job for some reason & neither of the first two seem likely to work out for long.
Has anyone else heard about the latest from SCROTUS? They declined to rule on whether Trump was immune from prosecution for the crimes he committed while president.
It they rule that he was immune, then he can certainly stand for president.
Where is the person who will primary Biden and give us someone to vote FOR? Because if there isn’t a better choice than Biden or Trump, Trump will win.
I didn’t realise it til now, but Ted seems to have got the motivation for this ’toon from an article in Common Dreams on the 19th:
Harey Zahav plans for Israeli settler homes in Gaza

“A house on the beach is not a dream,” reads an advertisement from a company notorious for building in the occupied West Bank.
Palestine defenders this week condemned a proposal by an Israeli real estate developer specializing in the construction of illegal settlements to build beachfront homes for Jewish colonists over the bombed-out ruins of Gaza.

Strange water levels in that pool he’s in waist deep water and she’s in knee deep water. According to the diving board she is closer to the deep end.
