On the family ranch, I watched a very large puppy have his first encounter with a ranch cat. Ranch cats don’t give ground. The cat sat there as the puppy came galumphing up and try to nose-to-nose with the cat. Ouch! The puppy learned one very important characteristic of cats. Cats are sharp!
