Please do not be condescending to University-level art education. Before these demonstrations, there would be a full lecture on macaroni art, which can be traced back to the Yuan Dynasty in China. A separate set of readings would flesh out the development of construction paper from ancient papyrus to NASA-developed space fans for cooling.
(I’m only partly kidding. What the public might see of an art program at an exhibit really is just the tip of the educational iceberg.)

It is tricky knowing how much glue to use to hold the macaroni. That can take about 3 years to properly learn.
