Just bought two new indoor propane heaters after having just electric for the week it was in the single digits. Tested both in order to familiarize myself with them. They should be okay in an emergency. I was going to get a kerosene heater until I read some reviews on them.
Calvin feels the same way about having to endure a cold house due to his parents never allowing him to turn on the thermostat. Maybe he should join RJ, Verne, and Hammy in their warm domicile.
Yesterday my niece in Alaska sent me a photo of the thermometer in their barn. It was -53F. And the kids still go to school in it. My niece works in a hospital in Fairbanks and had to commute 30 minutes on what she called âsquare tiresâ. I donât understant it, but they love it up there!

We have two gas fireplaces and a cheap, undersized heat pump. The fireplaces donât need power to operate put out more heat than the heat pump.

Been there. Sometimes, itâs still cold inside, even when I turn up the heat.
