North Atlantic right whales have been listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act since 1970. There are approximately 360 individuals remaining, including fewer than 70 reproductively active females. The population continues to decline at an unsustainable rate, due to human impacts. The number of new calves born in recent years has been below average.

If I remember correctly, back on St@r Trek 4, wasn’t a singing Humpback Whale the right whale that saved the planet Earth from being destroyed by some invading space aliens?

Let’s hear three cheers for the singing Humpbacks!

As for the drawing of the whale, it may not look traditional as we’re used to. But, hey—we’re in Chip’s universe, and if I wanted reality, I’d go to National Geographic or somewhere. Just my two cents’ worth.
