From Not Always Right: Some Things Require A Little Mama Know-How
When my younger brother was born, he was sent to the ICU — nothing bad, just Mom’s immune system mistaking him for an infection. My mom was told to get home, shower, sleep, and come back in the morning.
The next morning, the nurse led my mom to a room with a crying newborn.
Nurse: “The doctor will be with you shortly and fill you in.” Leaves
My mom took my brother and asked him:
Mom: “Are you hungry?”
You see, she couldn’t sleep all night, so she made him some food. As soon as he realised this, he stopped yelling, opened his mouth, and would only start arguing when the next spoon was too slow. By the time he’d eaten half the box, the nurse returned with the doctor.
Nurse: “I don’t understand. He wouldn’t eat anything we gave him.”
Doctor: “What did you give him?”
Nurse: “[Brand] baby food, which we give all newborns. We tried every flavour.”
Doctor: To my mom “What is he eating?”
Mom: “Organic carrots, boiled until soft and then squished into a paste. I fed this to all his siblings at this age.”
Doctor: “His appetite is fine; he just doesn’t like hospital food. Like most patients.”

The kid was healthy, by the way.

He has an inflammation of his bozo? I don’t recall ever hearing of such an anatomical structure in humans.
