I’m both amazed and saddened by things that happened in this country since was born in 1949 when I was too young to know the world outside my small neighborhood. Still learning.
No country had a perfect history. Minorities everywhere were put down, shunned, looked down upon, treated badly. Too many wars, too many battles, too much fighting. You wonder why God created people so different.
My eyes were opened, when I was around 8 (1954)Our family traveled from Cleveland to Florida.I went to a department store with my Great Aunt, and when I went to get a drink from a water fountain she said “You can’t drink there,it’s a colored fountain.” I pressed the pedal and told her,“No the water is clear.”Then got the real story…. still didn’t/don’t understand it.

I look back at that era and cringe.

And there’s still a need for it today.

Such a sad history, but even sadder that much of it is still true.

Try putting something like this in a history book and many people will dismiss it as being “woke” and try to have it banned.
