I had trouble learning to ride a bike. One night I had a dream that I was riding my bike with my hair flowing out behind me. I let my short hair grow out – and it worked, I could ride my bike a 22 inch.
Then I had to learn to ride a 26 inch bike. This was a problem. I am on the short side and the “grown up bikes” were 26 inch. I would have to jump on as I started and jump off as I stopped as unless I stopped next to a curb or something similar my feet did not reach the ground. I did learn to ride and jump on and off. I rode that bicycle for years, went on trips out of state with the school district bicycle group and so on.
Husband and I bought bicycle when we got a house and rode them for several years – still out in the shed. I thought about riding one again and looking at someone on a bike next to us as we were stopped in traffic I realized that I would kill myself I had to jump and off of it and there was no curb so not a good idea. Then I saw a woman riding a 24 inch bicycle – aha, my feet would reach the ground if I had same. Now if I could deal with the 4 lane main road I live on and would need to leave/come back to the house on I might try it again – at 70.

That’s not funny. My daughter wiped out like that a few times in her youth and won’t even touch a bicycle now!
