    There are programs at local libraries where kids can read to therapy dogs. No judging, just loving puppy eyes. :)

    As cats sleep about 16 hours a day, I am sure they’d just stay put while you read to them.

    The dog is probably just soothed by the sound of your voice and grateful of the attention; the cat is just thinking of ways to kill and eat you. Love the dog; fling the cat.
