CM Punk, professional wrestler

Punk’s tenure in All Elite Wrestling involved unscripted negative comments towards fellow wrestlers he had no respect for, unscripted promos celebrating himself, backstage drama, and even backstage violence. This culminated in an incident at “All In 2023”, where Punk physically attacked a younger wrestler who he felt had disrespected him. During the resulting fight, a row of monitors was knocked over, some of which nearly struck AEW founder Tony Khan. It basically took the arrival of fellow wrestler Samoa Joe to break things up, by which point the event was already going to start several minutes late as Punk was supposed to be in the first match.

This incident, dubbed “Brawl In” by observers, led to Punk being fired for cause.
