I read most of the Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö ‘Martin Beck’ series when I was a teen. Translated of course.

There is a terrific parody of all those Scandinavian detective shows that runs occasionally on BBC Radio 4 Extra. It’s called “Angstrom”. BBC Radio 4 Extra is the free light entertainment channel on the BBC website.
