It really gets me how some people think it’s ok to go hiking in flip flops and halter top / tee shirt. They get lost and freeze.

the cops constantly have to rescue clueless skiers and borders who go off piste and instantly get lost. unlike the old days, cell phones make it easy to call for help. naturally, the media focus on the foreigners doing dumb sh.. stuff, even though they’re far outnumbered by the local japanese dum-dums. as is always the case these days, the media have also decided to use the term “back country” when they’re talking about “off piste.” in japan, the meaning of words that originally came from foreign languages is always an approximation and usage is always wrong…
