Robin is sounding more like another harbinger of spring, the red winged black bird. Their squacks sound like a rusty hinge. I saw the first robin on Groundhog day. I haven’t seen or heard a red winged black bird yet.
First robin of spring. Reminds me of the old Motley strip, the white cat Motley would be met by the first robin of spring and he swiftly gobbled him up.
I saw a dozen wild turkeys recently. I can’t remember if they were walking down my street or in my backyard, but it was definitely a parade. It looked like daddy in front, mama in back, and teenagers in between. They all looked quite proud of themselves. Wherever they were, Bunny and I waited quietly for them to go past together.
The look of the robin in the second panel? That is me, every morning, as Bunny and I head outside before I am even really awake. I don’t “whonk” though. At least I don’t think I do.
