Great idea! Instead of merely 20%, maybe we could take it down to five seconds per minute. Will not work well in the NBA, but during the last minutes of a close college game where one team makes foul after foul after foul in a desperate attempt to close the score, all fans would bless the time keeper.

NBA games go by pretty fast, until the last couple of minutes in close game when the teams try all the tactics they have. Maybe speed up the shot clock ?

Hmmmm…. you can tell that sports have become over-bureaucratized when the text from a Tank McNamara strip could have been taken straight out of a Dilbert cartoon.

Y’know, there are lots of guys with stopwatches out there.

The sports industry has become so corrupt, that people have lost sight of the spirit of the game.

Glad to see that there was one voice of sanity there…too bad there isn’t one in the real world of NBA owners…

Not that tough to do. Just keep the clock running during stoppages in play. the Harlem Globetrotters have been doing for years.

As dumb as some of the players are (and some fans) at math, they wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

All four major sports should cut their regular seasons by at least 10%. They keep expanding their playoffs without shortening the seasons. NHL ought to end by April or May and NFL in January.
