Dogs know blocks of time, not specific time. Within 10-15 minutes Rugby would get up and give us the death stare for getting his dinner. Also, he would stand by the when it was about time to go to doggie school. Then, he would be standing by the gate @ doggie school when it was time to pick him up. BTW, dogs love, love routine !
Mine knows when it’s 7:02 AM and 4:00 PM. She always knew when spouse would leave work (10 miles away) and wait at the door. Work from home changed that. She also changed her get up time to DST a week earlier so she was still at 7:02 AM when it changed on Sunday. I Tried to listen for some thing that indicates the time in min. But nothing could be heard by me.
Pets know. Our cat even knew the sound of our car over all the cars down at the cottage. She would wait by the side of the road, eyes glowing in the headlights, then scamper through the woods to meet us at the cottage.
