The original, in bronze, was lost/melted down centuries ago. The Romans loved it and had countless copies made in marble. While a bronze arm will easily hold the discus its a strain on a marble arm. Look at any version you see and the arm will be repaired. (The drawing doesn’t show the tree stump, magically attached to the hip, there to provide greater stability to a marble copy.)
I could see my dog doing that. When we get the frisbee out, she carries it and won’t let me touch it until she throws it at my feet so I can throw it for her. When she is done, she picks it up and we continue the walk.
