I remember when I was growing up, the neighbor across the street switched from 2nd shift to 1st shift, so she bought a VCR to tape her soaps. All My Children and One Life to Live, if I remember correctly. She expressed regret for buying it during the terrible OLtL story line in which Vicki Buchanan was shot and was in a coma but her soul was on a space ship headed to heaven. She had to confront the Devil, who just happened to look like her step-mother Dorian, before they arrived in heaven.

I was in a church service where someone requested prayer for one of the characters on a soap opera. Not the actress – the character.

My mother, as fine a mother as she was, tended to have a negative personality. We blamed it on her watching that crap all day while we were at school and work.

And what if it’s raining cats and dogs outside?

I had one Soap… “Dark Shadows”… ㋛

My Mom wasn’t in to soaps. She was one of the original Trekkies.

It’s always the literary types that get hooked on soaps…

My stepmother to a ‘T’.

Weird how in middle age I don’t miss summer vacation.

I remember my mom watching soaps between 11 and 2, there would be tissues around and lots of vacuuming. Everyone needs their escape and that was hers.

Well, at least Andy’s honest about wanting the TV to herself while her soaps are on.

I wonder if she watches Days or Y and R??
