Thanks margueritem. Lots better. Of course nowadays when you get any symptoms that resemble a flu, the word swine comes into your head, but mine was just the old 24 hour variety. PHEW!!!
JFri, 12 stitches, that a lot dude!
Jdoc, thanks for commenting about Cleveland being the “tribe”. I thought it was Atlanta. Since you’re from MI, of course you are rooting for the Tigers. Since I am from Texas, I root for the Astros and the Rangers, although not so much now, too busy. I did get to see Nolan Ryan (when he was a Ranger) pitch ONE of his no-hitters, that was awesome.
Doc, thanks for ‘splaining bindy.
Dry, You are so right, I really need to make sure I get enough sleep.
BTW, I went and checked Pib, I’m glad all is well.
Morning, Doc. As I said yesterday. My term of Tribe could have just been coincidental.
.
Dry - As for seeing the strip before, nope, it was just a guess. Winky is following all the suggestions too easily, and Dusty didn’t even do anything when Winky walked into the room and went Zombie.
Good morning once again. Last night I went over to Pibgorn to check it out for maybe the third time. I like the strip, the drawing and story line. As with my other visits, I feel a bit inhibited making a comment there as most everyone seems entrenched in an ongoing discussion that would take me a time of viewing the comic before I felt I could way in. To me Pibgorn and Big Top provide to very different reasons for responding. I have only been involved with this strip for about a week, but feel instantly welcome. Competition of responses seems like a fun one time event, but seems like if dragged out would generate forced response and ruin the fun. Just my point of view.
johnnydoc5, (from yesterday) yes “The Great Escape” is one of those movies, I never tire of. My wife put it on our Netflix queue. I couldn’t believe that she had never seen it. My cousin’s lifelong friends are the daughters of James Clavell, one of the two writers who did the screenplay.
Went back and finished reading what I missed last night!
Cleo I LOVE “THE GREAT ESCAPE”. Never get tired of it. Like you, I’ve seen it many, mnay times! We used to play Trivial Pursuit on teams. I once won one of the contests for our team. The question was “What were the names of the tunnels in the Great Escape?” I immediately answered, Tom, Dick and Harry. Nobody believed me, I said trust me! We won!
Cleo, I agree, it should be a one time thing. I’m done. We don’t need to stir up trouble. That would lower us to SOTU standards. doc & JFri (**owlsly, too), you guys listenin?
Besides, I don’t want to get kicked off the couch! :-)
Dry, I have been lucky in catching so many great concerts. Cheech and Chong were, believe it or not working in a strip club in Vancouver, BC when I was going to art school up there. If you love great guitarists, I also got a chance to see Eric Clapton and Mark Knoffler play side by side sharing lead throughout the show. Wonderful!
cleo not familiar with Mark, but Eric Clapton, oh yeah!
And yes, if I had to pick between two movies to watch for an evening and it was The Great Escape or Kelly’s Heroes, the Great Escape would win hands down! (unless I was tired and knew I would fall asleep before the ending LOL!)
doc here’s a chuckle for you! My cat was bouncing around with her cat nip toy! She got so hyper she locked herself in the bathroom! LOL Don’t ask me how!
JFri the more we try to patch things up, the worse it gets! Best we keep our two sites single! I love this site because we’re not too big! Yet! Hope it stays that way! and what does all those symbols at the end of your last post mean?
Sometime we want to hear this loong story! If you didn’t see the movie, you should! GREAT!!
doc yea you and me both! (re: ziggy)
Saw your comment at Overboard. (You’re welcome!) Even if I don’t always comment, it’sthe first strip I read in AM!
JFri yeah I see the resemblence to a fish (NoT -LOL!
Well, RL is calling so I must leave. Probably won’t see you anymore today doc, won’t be back unitl around 3:30 real quick and then after 5. Have a great day you wonderful people!
I tell you, it’s a real treat in April, in the Pacific NW, to be able to hang laundry on the line. That’s my next task. Also, and not as fun, I am mowing the lawn this afternoon, which has become a twice a week procedure.
Good morning all,
First time on in a couple of days, been a bit crazy.
We’re still 45F but it’s supposed to start getting nicer over the next few days.
doctortoon. I have a spot down at the lake. My house and party deck is up a hill from where you can pitch your tent. You won’t hear the mower. I have a kayak, on a small deck down next to where you can pitch your tent. When you wake up you can take it out on the placid lake and watch for bald eagles fishing for kokanee.
@cleokaya, you may feel intimidated by the crew at Pibgorn, but there’s really no need. They are quite friendly, and welcome all who come, especially those bearing gifts (food).
And, no matter how confused your remarks may be, remember that most of us there are confused. That’s why we got the couch of confusion in the first place!
johnnydoc. Yes, I got a chance to meet Mr. Clavell, who also wrote the books “King Rat” and “Shogun”. He was very good to my cousin, paying for her way to the British Isles for a year so that my cousin and his daughters could be together. She got to meet a lot of actors and even had a small part in one of his movies. Unfortunately, he passed away a few years ago.
bmonk, thanks for the response about Pibgorn. Glad to know that I’m not the only one floating a veil of confusion.
Hope each day your sadness eases a wee bit. I have vivid dreams and quite often, as I said, I am visited both by my mom and my dad and it hasn’t diminished over the years. What’s funny is I still get into the same arguments with my dad and I awake frustrated, but warmed by the encounter.
okay you guys. i got the new internet explorer 8 now and it all looks diff.

Dry, if you like Italian, you’ll do well at our house. We make Thai, Mediterranean, Pacific NW, Chinese, Indian, etc., but nothing more often than Italian.
I just thought of something that I haven’t put any thought into, but I think it might be fun, sometime in the future to have a real get together at some location that could be worked out amongst us. Have a weekend “toon family” get together. Those who would be interested in attending could. Those concerned about their privacy could bow out easily. Friendships develop online, but carrying any further poses complications because of invasion of people’s privacy. Having a get together that was purely voluntary with no details revealed except by those that choose to attend could be fun. Just a suggestion, as a future possibility. Any opinions pro or con?
Joy, Joy, Joy, what am I gonna do with you? I barely got a look at that hilarius avatar you put up, and you changed it already. Doc and carmy have got to see it, and I want another peek!
Oh the cat is adorable, you can put it back tomorrow eve. when the week is offically over! LOL
pookid!! bite your tongue!
Yes it was written for “Anything Goes”, but they also sing it in “Evil Under the Sun”, a movie based on a Agatha Christie novel of the same name.
My dad never talks on the phone to anyone other than us and my cousin. He can’t hear anybody else anyway cuz he always forgets to turn up his hearing aid! He was raised on “paying your own way”, worked hard for everything he ever got. Him & mom never had credit or debit cards, never believed in them!
Hello again kids! Hope you are all playing nice. Well, the school year is finally over for me and the way I am going to celebrate: I might just take a nap. Good night all!
Dry, my parents grew up during the depression. They made a point of never owing anyone any money, never bought anything on credit and they paid cash for every home they bought, plus their business.
cleo My dad worked a factory job for 40 years until a flood closed the factory for good, and my mom as I said, was an RN. They paid there house off in 7 years. OF course, that was back in ‘72 but relatively speaking, prices then, well you know what I’m sayin” don’t ya?
so, johnnydoc is done for the school year, and he celebrates by going to take a nap?? We gotta haul that kid’s a@@ out of bed! Time for him to party! We’ll drag him down to Joy andJFri’s beach party, and stop and get carmy on the way!
@Joy618, my dad used to have trouble with people who tried to sell him aluminum siding. Only thing was, our house was brick. He eventually threatened them with the BBB or something and they quit. Then a couple of years ago, we were getting calls daily (on two lines) about government grants we could apply for. After four months I finally put our lines on “do not call” listing, and eventually they did quit. Now we just get the occasional silent call, when the computers dial the number but no operators happen to be free? Still aggravating, but not like listening to the first few words of a sales pitch twice daily for four months.
But, JFrisch419, ifn youse goes viam that Intern-web thingie, doesn’t it all go at the speed of light? At least until you get to the dial-up end anyway… :-(
AAAAARRRRRRRR, me head!! I’m up! What did I miss? Why be I lyin’ on this deserted section of beach?? Blast it, everyone drank up doc’s nuclear coffee! Guess I be sleepin’ it off some more.
What a coincidence, I just fixed myself a cup of coffee. Doc, your coffee is very strong. It’s more like a morning coffee, not a after dinner type. That’s just my opinion, mind you.
Sorry Doc, I forgot.
When I was much younger, I worked with my mom and brother in an accounting office. I didn’t drink coffee then. The coffee pot was empty and they told me to make some more. I asked where I should rinse out the pot and my brother said NO, don’t rinse it out, that’s what makes it so good.
glad you are all enjoying the pics and the coffee. i am having fun posting them for you. i think we should get togeter some time. not sure when i could do that. but we should try.. not sure who brought it up… sorry… my sr. pics look lovely from what i seen. i was on a skateboard for one. lol i looked crazy in all. :D going read yesterdays. bbs.
Doc, that is major yucko. I think I might have “accidentally” broken his mug so he would be forced to get a new one. Did you see Reynolds Unwrapped today? If not, go take a look.
so i just read last nigts post. wow there were a lot i have to go to pig. now to see about the name. and some whear to see about a fish???? i keep reading fish and missing where at… lost any help?
tabby do you skateboard or was that just for show? My youngest skateboarded for about 5 years but hasn’t done so in about 6 months. I miss that! He was good and I loved to watch the smile on his face when he did a difficult trick! Once I took him and his friends to see Tony Hawk and Ensamble. I LOVED IT! I enjoyed it as much as they did! I’m still waiting for it to be an Olympic sport! It takes skill and dexterity to do those tricks and I am sick of people saying skateboarders are bad kids! Some are, MOST aren’t.
tabby about the fish, JFri made some symbols at the end of one of his comments, page 2 I think, or maybe page 3. Anyway, cleo and someone else thought it was good! I razzed JFri about it! I think that’s what they mean!
Cleo, I agree, it should be a one time thing. I’m done. We don’t need to stir up trouble. That would lower us to SOTU standards. doc & JFri (**owlsly, too), you guys listenin?
Besides, I don’t want to get kicked off the couch! :-)
we would not want to see that…I thought the “contest was all in good fun…I took it about as serious as I would take a comic strip…we won fare and square once that is enough for me and I am sure every one else…I am here to enjoy camaraderie and make friends not angst and bad karma…this place the big top is perfect for friends and good tymes and not taking things to serious
Doc, I thought of you because of YAPPY, I knew you and the kitties wouldn’t like the pooches.
Tabby, you’re welcome.
Dry, I wondered where you were. Are you ready for the beach party?
tabby thank goodness carmy is here! She knows what’s goin’ on! Oh well, you would have found the fish eventually LOL!
doc you’re kind of late going to work tonight aren’t you? OH and by the way, no need to send out a search party for me tomr. I may be on early in the AM but will be gone most of the day. Going back to re-visit the college my youngest will be entering in the fall. :-( :-( :-(
carmy yea I’m ready for the beach party but I think everybody took off without us! We need to get our own transportation instead of relying on these knukleheads (yea JFri I’m talkin’ ‘bout you LOL!)
If you didn’t see my earlier post, I was watching my CSI program!
I’m not only addicted to this place, the comics, but also my one soap, my 2 “CSI’s” and “24”. Other than that, I TRULY AM A ANORMAL PERSON!! HONEST!! I PINKY SWEAR!!
Doc, yappy can be a good thing sometimes, I guess. Whatever makes you yappy, that’s all that counts.
So now your lady friend is “your honey”, that it so sweet.
Dry, I’m sorry you’re sad. At least he won’t be very far away. He can come home on the weekends with his laundry.
carmy you don’t have to take a separate kayak! LOL And yea, I forgot to mention your previous post about laundry! My oldest, when he came home, brought every piece of clothing he owned PLUS his bedding and bath towels!! Filled up half the space in our vehicle!
okay guys its time to share. i must be getting to bed also. night all see u tomorrow. may not be on much will have Ana. later. :D jfri find a way man i want to see that hand. also :P
That nap was a bad idea, but I don’t think that I want to party for a while now. Had too much party last night, and didn’t feel good today because of it. Thanks to that ill-advised nap, I won’t be able to fall asleep tonight. Good night all who are going to bed. To those staying up: Hi!
Well, I am back after watching the second half of “The Great Escape”. I forgot how long it is. Looks like I said good morning to doctortoon then missed his departure. Hello Tabbylynn and Owsly. It looks like arrived just past the time when everyone else went to bed. Real life gets in the way. LOL
Hi Cleo and Marg. My day was rough, I thought I was getting too much sleep, but since I was going to bed so late, it turns out I wasn’t getting enough. I crashed at seven and took about a 3 hour nap. Now I won’t be able to sleep tonight.
I think I will try to wake up early tomorrow regardless of when I go to bed.

Good morning!!
JFri, that was a funny strip.
I’m still on the fence about “The Tribe” - I guess I watch too much Survivor where tribes just turn on each other. But I’ll go along it.
So everyone used to meet at Prickly City? I’ve never really checked that one out. Glad you guys stumbled over this way :-)

Joy, your avatar really looks like it needs a hug. I’ll give that blue haired fuzzball a hug. I’ve always been a hugger, even with my male friends.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
wow Joy you did have some week! Better grab another beer, girl!
Are you registered on the Do Not Call list?
Wonder how he got all your info? Did you call the police?
carmy over 15 years ago
pookid!! bite your tongue!

Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
pookid and carmy yes, Cole Porter, that’s it. not really crazy about musicals, per se, but tunes that come out of them, OH YEA!
johnnydoc5 over 15 years ago
Hello again kids! Hope you are all playing nice. Well, the school year is finally over for me and the way I am going to celebrate: I might just take a nap. Good night all!
Radical-Knight over 15 years ago
Thanks, Joy. I think you just took care of one of my pet peeves and maybe one of my recent irritants. I owe you a hug!
cleokaya over 15 years ago
Goodnight johnnydoc.

Dry, my parents grew up during the depression. They made a point of never owing anyone any money, never bought anything on credit and they paid cash for every home they bought, plus their business.

Joy, Goodnight, I’m still thinking about joining ya’ll at the Beach Party. Sweet Dreams!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
cleo My dad worked a factory job for 40 years until a flood closed the factory for good, and my mom as I said, was an RN. They paid there house off in 7 years. OF course, that was back in ‘72 but relatively speaking, prices then, well you know what I’m sayin” don’t ya?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago

@Joy618, my dad used to have trouble with people who tried to sell him aluminum siding. Only thing was, our house was brick. He eventually threatened them with the BBB or something and they quit. Then a couple of years ago, we were getting calls daily (on two lines) about government grants we could apply for. After four months I finally put our lines on “do not call” listing, and eventually they did quit. Now we just get the occasional silent call, when the computers dial the number but no operators happen to be free? Still aggravating, but not like listening to the first few words of a sales pitch twice daily for four months.
bmonk over 15 years ago
But, JFrisch419, ifn youse goes viam that Intern-web thingie, doesn’t it all go at the speed of light? At least until you get to the dial-up end anyway… :-(

What a coincidence, I just fixed myself a cup of coffee. Doc, your coffee is very strong. It’s more like a morning coffee, not a after dinner type. That’s just my opinion, mind you.
carmy over 15 years ago
Sorry Doc, I forgot. When I was much younger, I worked with my mom and brother in an accounting office. I didn’t drink coffee then. The coffee pot was empty and they told me to make some more. I asked where I should rinse out the pot and my brother said NO, don’t rinse it out, that’s what makes it so good.

carmy over 15 years ago
Doc, that is major yucko. I think I might have “accidentally” broken his mug so he would be forced to get a new one. Did you see Reynolds Unwrapped today? If not, go take a look.
carmy over 15 years ago
Hi Tabby, I’m looking forward to seeing your Sr. pics.

hey doc just got back on after watching CSI. Hope I didn’t miss you. Saw your last post from 7 mins. ago!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
tabby do you skateboard or was that just for show? My youngest skateboarded for about 5 years but hasn’t done so in about 6 months. I miss that! He was good and I loved to watch the smile on his face when he did a difficult trick! Once I took him and his friends to see Tony Hawk and Ensamble. I LOVED IT! I enjoyed it as much as they did! I’m still waiting for it to be an Olympic sport! It takes skill and dexterity to do those tricks and I am sick of people saying skateboarders are bad kids! Some are, MOST aren’t.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
doc I doubt there is a very scary looking man in the mirror when you wake up!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
tabby about the fish, JFri made some symbols at the end of one of his comments, page 2 I think, or maybe page 3.

:-) we would not want to see that…I thought the “contest was all in good fun…I took it about as serious as I would take a comic strip…we won fare and square once that is enough for me and I am sure every one else…I am here to enjoy camaraderie and make friends not angst and bad karma…this place the big top is perfect for friends and good tymes and not taking things to serious
carmy over 15 years ago
Doc, I thought of you because of YAPPY, I knew you and the kitties wouldn’t like the pooches. Tabby, you’re welcome. Dry, I wondered where you were. Are you ready for the beach party?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
tabby thank goodness carmy is here!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
Hi Owlsly How was your day, now that I’m close to signing out? LOL
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
carmy yea I’m ready for the beach party but I think everybody took off without us!
HONEST!! I PINKY SWEAR!!
carmy over 15 years ago
Doc, yappy can be a good thing sometimes, I guess. Whatever makes you yappy, that’s all that counts. So now your lady friend is “your honey”, that it so sweet. Dry, I’m sorry you’re sad. At least he won’t be very far away. He can come home on the weekends with his laundry.
carmy over 15 years ago
Dry, Yes, (shaking head no) you are perfectly normal. Hey, maybe we can borrow Marg’s kayak.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
okay doc what the He** does that last post mean, and DON’T YOU DARE LEAVE HERE WITHOUT ‘SPLAININ IT!
carmy over 15 years ago
Doc, I had to get a mirror to read that, thank you!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
*so carmy * thinks I’m loony as she’s shaking her head! LOL Yea, I could use a good kayak ride about now!
carmy over 15 years ago
Dry, we need to take separate kayaks now. I’m afraid you might try get even with me out there.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
okay carmy how did you know that? Huh?
doc you, or rather carmy has explained it! You are free to go, my friend! LOL
carmy over 15 years ago
Dry, loonies think alike? Is that a good answer?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
Somebody is messing with the favorite symbol. Last time I checked this comic was favorited 5 times, now its down to one! How is that possible?
tabbylynn over 15 years ago
Doc lol i had to write it down to lazy to get a mirror. Dry it says “why be normal?” lol
carmy over 15 years ago
I don’t know Dry. Maybe someone (x3) changed their minds?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
carmy you don’t have to take a separate kayak! LOL And yea, I forgot to mention your previous post about laundry! My oldest, when he came home, brought every piece of clothing he owned PLUS his bedding and bath towels!! Filled up half the space in our vehicle!
tabbylynn over 15 years ago

Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago

Tabby, I was joking about the mirror. Do you really want to see JFri’s stitches? Crazy girl!
carmy over 15 years ago
Goodnight All! sleepers time for me too.
johnnydoc5 over 15 years ago
