Good Early MorningTribe!
hi to Dry (thanks for brekkie, i hope my contribution is also appreciated), Terry, Marg, & JFri
I finally catch up and it’s time to go do the toons again! (either that or turn on the tube and watch Jeopardy!)
Doc, I am doing pretty good this morning. We’ll see how it goes later. I need to go pick up a vehicle for repairs that failed the emissions test. Might be a long day.
I used to mix chocolate with my army coffee back in the early 90’s. I used Nestles. It was pretty good.
Before I went into the Army I drank it black, but when you can add a half cup of cream to a half cup of coffee and it barely changes color, you get used to adding to it! Not just strong but very bitter. And on the good side, it gave you two cups for every cup of black coffee you poured. Getting enough coffee in the mornings was not easy for a coffeeaholic! LOL
Good Morning all. Well, I sat down to watch my movie last night and promptly lost power. So, not only did I not get to watch a movie, but all hope of joining you yappy nuts was lost for the day. And over 50 posts already prove how yappy that you are.
Dry - I will have your scrambled egg dish. I am a sucker for hot sauce. The eggs will go great with scrapple and the muffins with Peach jam. All that served with nuclear coffee seems like the perfect start to my day.
Good morning all!
Today has not started well, I overslept and missed my morning classes. Only the first one really mattered. I don’t understand why I’ve been so tired this week and yet have been getting so much sleep. It doesn’t make sense to me.
Dry, except, since I am ten years older than Pete, I am that much more sophisticated than he is! I would have gone with the bow tie for the dance.
Yes johnny the reason I ask is because this year was REALLY bad here for them, they are still around because it’s not cold enough to kill them. Don’t mean to scare you, but you saying how tired you are makes me think of it. You haven’t found any ticks on you recently have you?
Have I got a tick story. My wife and I were traveling south for the winter with our dog Cleo. We went through horrible weather with torrential downpours, scary wind and a roof leak, followed by a range problem an kept waiting for a night where we could celebrate and open a bottle of champagne, but negative issues kept cropping up. Finally the weather improved and we had no vehicle problems. The sky cleared up and we pulled into a state park near San Sebastian. We decided to go for a walk on this dirt path on a ridge overlooking the ocean. While my waited on a bench Cleo decided to go down this slope to check out this really cool grove of trees. As dusk was approaching, we went back to the motor home to watch the sun set. We entered the RV to get the champagne. Suddenly, my wife looked at Cleo and said “Cleo’s skin seems to be moving.” Going in for a closer look we saw that she was absolutely swarming with ticks. Oh and she had been lying at the foot of our bed when we noticed this. After tying her up outside we went in and vacuumed the RV and shook out the sheets. By then it was dark out. Armed with flashlights and combs we each took a tin can and filled it halfway with water. For the next hour we combed ticks off of Cleo and drowned them in the water. All night long if we felt anything on our bodies we would turn on the light to see if it was a tick or not. Sometimes there was, but mostly it was our imagination. For the next few days we would find remaining ticks either on Cleo, ourselves or somewhere inside. Creepy.
DocToon, let’s just say that a mixture of Nuclear Coffee and CocoMocha is probably how the Vulcan Science Academy got its “red matter” (in Star Trek). :))
This comic strip brings back memories. I remember when I was that age and went to my first school dance back in the fifth grade. I wasn’t nervous until I got to the dance.
After about ten minutes, a boy finally asked me if I wanted to dance, and I said yes. I think that he was just as nervous as I was. Everything turned out well, and I had a good time.
cleo, ticks are nasty critters. And depending on the type of tick they carry some pretty bad diseases. Lyme disease is pretty big here in PA. And deer season is coming up, and there hasn’t been enough cold weather to kill the blasted things!

BMonk - grace and peace to you (yesterday’s greek to Doc). I think it was grace and peace… I had to ask my husband, and now I can’t remember what he told me last night.
I’ve been around for about a month, but rarely at the same time each day.
I had 3 whole weeks of Greek, my husband took to it like a duck to water. Became tutor to entire seminary community. Hebrew and Greek - I swear he does an exegesis with every morning devotion!
you know what, tabby got to see one of her three boys she misses like crazy. and may get to see the other two in a little while. there is this old song called “one more day” and thats what im thinking of now. you one more more min one more sec to hold them and love them and every time you see them you just want to see them more and more. its hard to let them go. but you have to sometimes and i had to let him go home. 30 mins goes by fast when u miss someone so much and yuo finaly have them in your grasp. sigh
Howdy celecca, bmonk & Terry - I have spent my day doing 3 very different tasks. Making a cranberry pomegranate sauce for thanksgiving, getting my darkroom set up so I can print starting on Monday and doing laundry. I was telling my wife that I am learning new things reading the comics. She looked at me skeptically and said “Oh yeah?” I replied “Yes, I can now fold a fitted sheet into a perfect square.” Which I demonstrated for her. Those who read pickles will remember Earl being given the task of folding the sheets, which he handed her in a ball, which is pretty much what I was doing. A person posted a youtube video of a man showing how to fold fitted sheets. I put it into practice and voila a new skill thanks to the comics.
great news!!! i installed Spell check on my computer for you poor lovely people who have been suffering with my miss spellings. :D don’t u know i love you guys.
Good luck *Terry. I can be entertained for hours by women’s beach volleyball. LOL
Well, I am going to start work on making a Portugese potato and chorizo soup. Don’t I make the perfect domestic goddess. That’s what happens when you are raised by a mother with your dad on the road. My mom did household things like clean and cook. She was an artist who painted in oil and watercolors and used pastels. I cook and bake, went to art and photography school and do laundry.
If I’d have been raised by may dad I would be a good electrician, mechanic, handy with tools and unable to draw a stick figure. Parents sure have a big effect on kids.
i dont spell well and i hit the wrong key ALOT! lol and since i love The tribe so much i did it for you guys. lol now if my bro deletes it again i may just have to hurt him.
Hi Tribe!
Just reading about the ticks reminded me of our camping trip to Cape Cod. It was late May and our boys were thrilled to be able to go to the beach. The dog loved it as well. So there there they all were, playing in the sand, when we noticed a black mark very near my eldest son’s eye - he was four at the time. Well, it moved! And sure enough it was a tick. We checked the dog - she was covered in ticks near her eyes, ears - everywhere! We checked the boys over very closely and put them in the van with some games then threw a few sticks into the salt water for the dog to chase and cut her long fur and combed out the rest.
We spoke to some locals who said ticks were in the sand year round. Needless to say, we left - continuing down the coast through New York, Washington DC (loved the Smithsonian) and eventually to Panama City Beach. All the way we checked everyone over for ticks - finding only a few more on the dog.
Fabulous holiday but some horrifying experiences.
Hi Dry I see you found the rest of the Bookers. It was good, wasn’t it?
cleo I thought you were going to tuck me in last night? You fell asleep before I did in front of the T.V. I hope your wife tucked a blankey around you, ha, ha.
shika more then i can say. I told her a while back,
Before Ana came along i never loved anyone or anything that much. then this beautiful little thing was born. and its amazing the love i have for her and shes not mine. then Walking buddy came along and the boys and my love did not do what i figured it would, it streached and grew more. and Now i have love so much love for Ana, walking buddy, and the boys that its amazing. i would do anything to keep them safe form harm and to let them know they are loved.
Hi, Terry, Shika, Tabby, Cleo, Dry, DocT and any others I may have missed - I was interrupted by Skype while trying to get caught up here and now it’s time to make dinner.

Cleo yes we still have power and no wind but others near us have the wind - we are just protected. The ferries were stopped around dinner time last night and were still down this morning. Glad I’m not planning to travel!
Cy’all later.
Let’s see, I have some nice fresh sage, basil and garlic here! That should dress up a roadrunner meal! I wonder if he’s big enough to stuff with bread and oyster stuffing?
Yeah Thanks Tabby! If I can’t catch him, my Thanksgiving dinner is ruined! I need to get that new trap set up! I’ll get you little bird, in time for my big dinner!
Doc i bet, but i would think that all the racket such as pans baning, shouting, things crashing to the ground, Dry yelling “get back here you turd bird” would wake you up. humm intresting.
THAT IS NOW WAY TO TALK TO A LADY! I CANT BELIEVE YOU YOUNG MAN! GO STRAIGT TO YOUR ROOM WITHOUT SUPPER. Mumbles under breath, “stuff this” where did he get that from “stuff this” my my my
GOOD KITTY! HERE’S SOME TUNA, YOU SWEET BOY! NOW, NEXT TIME I GO TO WAKE YOUR DADDY, AIM IN THE AIR, AND FIRE OFF ABOUT 4 ROUNDS! I’LL GIVE YOU FRESH SALMON AS A REWARD!

Anybody around here bowl? Seeing CSI tonight reminded me! I haven’t bowled for a while, but I liked it when I did! And I just gave away a liitle piece of CSI to a certain TURD! SNERK!
JFri your eyes are out from looking at all those SINFUL Playboy picures! yea “I just read them for the articles and cartoons!” yeah right! :-D And I read Playgirl for the same reasons!
Tabby I was surprised, because of your links, how good some of the Christian music is. It’s good and it has a beat that brings it, well, I don’t know how to describe it, but it has a beat that is the same as songs today that teens listen to.
dry yes, it has a great beat to it. It not what people catagorize Christian music to be. This is something for everyone and they even play “old hymns” like Amazing grace and others. its great. some of the ones Camry and myself like are by a guy named Toby Mac he realy gets the teens in. Love it.
JFri, Bruise I gave you? Oh you Turd!! Keep it up and I’ll give you another one! Then you’ll have matching bruises! And no I didn’t drool, not any more than you did over Playboy!
Tabby, don’t believe a word JFri says! He’s delusional! All I did was accidentally, (kind of) throw my bowling ball a bit too soon, and he was standing there in the lane, where he had no business being, and, oh well, things happen! :-D
some french meal thing he cooked for a party they are having tomorrow in french class. I have no clue what the name is….is peporine and cheese and eggs in a pie crust. thats all i know.
Reminds me of a movie I saw where two characters are arguing, and one says, I’m older and I’m wiser. And the other responds with, yeah well, you’re half right!
It made me laugh.
And what are you doing here anyway? I still have my basting sauce and my baster ready to capture the turd bird to shove back in that oven that someone, who shall remain nameless (TABBYLYNN) let you out of!

@DocT, here’s an earlier page from before Agatha caught it. Apparently, the author thinks the disease is “Si Vales”–but we know better…
Edit: actually, it’s Hogfarb’s Resplendent Immolation; the “Si Vales” is the method of treatment–involving killing the person, but in the right way…

Tabby - You rock girl. I rely on spellchecker too. I spell well, but often hit the wrong key when typing.

@Tabby Lynn, they are very helpful–but won’t do everything. Remember:
