Well Doc I guess you finally got our rain. Yesterday was gorgeous. I was scarce here because I couldn’t begin to go inside the house. Today looks like a repeat. I am glad that Mighty Mouse had a good time.

Doc, I got up two hours earlier than usual today. I literally got up with the birds.

Grog, I have seen it several times and really like it. I have fantasized of Shagri-La.

cleo, I saw it for the first time in very many years last night. I was so caught up in it, it was over before I knew it. Very enjoyable.

I’m going to brave a morning walk now.

It’s raining in New England also. I have three new books and one door to repair. Three is bigger than one.

We had mucho rain yesterday. I have cars to work on today. I hope the rain holds out. One of the cars is outside the garage.

Right now it is 64° and muggy, Doc. We’re supposed to have widespread thunder boomers and temps in the low 80’s.

According to what it’s saying online, our temperature is currently 84. But the humidity feels much lower than it has been.

I did my car registration online last weekend. I was surprised to see my registration was already in the mail today.

It’s amazing and also very convenient with what you can do online now a days, Grog.

Fellow Baby was Shangri-La released under the title “Lost Horizon”? Who was in it anyway? I googled but didn’t get much.

I’m still thinking of storing stuff in one of the other buildings and burning it down. Too bad everyone would be suspicious if I stored everyting in the old barn.

Fellow Baby, it was a Frank Capra production starring Ronald Colman, Jane Wyatt, John Howard, Margo, Thomas Mitchell & Edward Everett Horton. It was also directed by Capra.

According to IMDB, John Wayne was credited with being in 172 movies from 1926 to 1976. I have seen or own most of his movies from 1942.

Cleoand Fellow Baby I know John Wayne made a LOT of movies, and I am looking for a needle in a haystack. The movie was about a plane that crashed, and it wasn’t Flight of the Phoenix, and no women were in it.

Correction, I just asked the resident John Wayne nut. You are correct Cleo, it was Jimmy Stewart in the “Flight of the Phoenix”. I don’t know why I kept thinking John Wayne was in that movie.

And while digging, I came across a John Wayne film I really liked that I haven’t seen in a long time, ” the Hellfighters”.

That makes sense. I’ve seen The Flight of the Phoenix a number of times. Of course there was also The Fighting Seabees, Flying Leathernecks & Flying Tigers, but I didn’t think they fit your description.

Grog, I got some of the big automotive job done today. I still have quite a bit to do though. Tonight we are going to the wake for my Godmother’s husband. The funeral is tomorrow. :^( I’m not good with funerals.

DOC On the matter of the door, the rain, and SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED. I simply explained the possible collision between hydrostatic expansion and linear collapsing. Once I explained what would happen as a result of quantum infarction, she understood my need to study the subject through reading.

DRY I should always take your advice. Of course, MAN DAY is on the first Saturday of July. I’ll have to mark it on her calendar.

I’m back from the Dragon.

Dry The Hellfighters is one of my favorite John Wayne movies, along with Green Beret and True Grit. There was another one, about his shepherding a group of kids on a cattle drive, where he dies on the way and the boys bring the cattle in, but the name escapes me.

It was miserably hot when I left at 2pm today. I couldn’t even hold the steering wheel until I had somewhat cooled it with the a/c. It still hot, but not miserable at 7pm.

Oh, and as there were only crumbs when I came on last time, enjoy the Krispy Kreams along with the ice cream bar with all the fixings and drinks for floats.

Quaby I believe the movie with the young boys was the “Cowboys”. I had forgotten that one, yes it was good. I didn’t really care for “True Grit” mainly because I never cared that much for Kim Darby.

And of course I DID miss you, Doc. But I was pretty sure I would given the time of the wake. And the relatives don’t think they see enough of me and wouldn’t let me scoot before it was ending. We did the rosary before I could get out. Good to see many that now live out of state, though.

What? I missed everybody. That’s a major Bummer on every level.

Good Evening All. I hope the wake wasn’t to uncomfortable Terry. Wakes are usually better than funerals. When I go I want a party style wake, with everyone tossing back a few and preferably a few weeks or a couple of months after I have passed so people can just relax and drink toasts. My dad had the best memorial service that I have ever been to and it was about 7 to 8 months after he had passed. All of his friends and relatives got up and told little stories. If you can have fun at such gatherings, I think all did. Sorry for your loss Terry.

Good Evening Cleo. Thank You very much! Wakes are alright except for losing that person or for seeing a friend lose someone. Other than that it’s not too bad and as I stated I get to see people that live far away. Funerals I don’t like to attend unless I need to out of respect.

Many countries have “party style wakes” with dancing and all.

Yep Terry, that is what I want, a party wake.
