Hy  that is really cool. I like looking at the stars, but the only thing I can point out is the big dipper.

I like looking up into the night sky as well sometimes.

I have seen Mercury, venus, Mars and jupiter over the years, as well as some other cool things while gazing up at the night sky.

hymenoxis…..tonight was the first night in ages that it was warm enough, and clear enough to sit outside and gaze at the stars. We saw 5 sattelites, and 5 meteorites, and 1 space station! Great viewing tonight!

And, to the south, we saw Neptune coming up. Very bright!

Hy most people have something they are a geek about. It is kind of fun. I enjoy the enthusiasm that comes thru when you talk about the planets and stars.

Considering also that viewing the stars can be a very romantic thing when you view it with the one you love.

Neptune was a bit of disappointment…looked rather like the other starry bits. Uranus was worth the ticket, though…a definite blue disk…

I’m happy for you hymenoxis. Star gazing into the wonders of our universe is definitely worth it.

Lone—I recommend doing so. Get an inexpensive reflector on a decent tripod, and take the kid out for a Boy’s Science Night Out. You’ll both remember it forever.

Now, I want to see! No telescope, though.

It’s taken me most of my life just to see Mercury. Seeing in Houston is very bad. Have you ever seen Ceres (especially now that it’s been bumped up to a dwarf planet)?

I’ve not pursued Mercury; the whole “close to the Sun” thing has put me off, frankly. That, and I’ve not had a good viewing opportunity of the horizon from my home in the past thirty years. Trees, buildings, Walmart parking lot lights, etc.

Ceres, however, looks like a hoot. I’ll have to find out when it’s up.

*Hy* I used to stargaze from Clear Lake City, Houston, Texas. If it was high in the sky I might have a shot at it. If it was low, furgittabout it.

Grog if I remember correctly, the earliest time we have an actual by God cooldown in the Webster/Galveston area was the 3rd week of September. Sometimes you’ll get one or two in October with warm days between. Maybe if you’re lucky, sweater/jacket weather for Christmas.

Hello all, I’ve started going through 2nd book and smarter still typing in all pages for answers. This before class starts, I don’t know how Dr.’s do it. I will never be able to remember all this stuff. When 2nd class starts in Oct find out what I need and don’t. 1st class I’ve read almost done with first chapter’s on Understanding Pshcology waiting for instructor what needs done on test.. all this before state fair starts and I will be working that I know for sure 2nd Sat. as a different town called Hillsboro will have arts and crafts there one day and that falls on 2nd sat. b-i-l goes there where we will be elsewhere during state fair helping my sister. Well goofed off too much making headways and it’s getting late.

James’ team lost this morning, but he played center for the first time and stayed there throughout the game. He even did some shotgun formations.

After that we worked out in the yard and in the garage on our riding lawn tractors. And attempted to fix a pressure washer that we got from someone. (I don’t remember who)

I’m back. Went out on a bead expedition. Had some extra $$ of mine to stock up on stuff I need for projects (findings, threads, etc). Stopped by the Dragon to get trounced twice (1st time by only 50 points, 2nd time I don’t wanna talk about it).

Got home about 10 minutes ago (it’s 9pm here). Cops all over my area of the apartment complex. My first thought with the flashing lights was about my hubby, was he ok????????

Turns out I missed the excitement. Two guys stole motorcycles and in eluding the police they came into our complex, managed to hit something and then ditched them as the cops were making their way back here. Tag end of excitement. Ah well.

Now I’m gonna scramble some eggs (my protein’s low and my doctor has said get ‘er up) and complete my Fire Mountain order. With the stuff I picked up today and my order I should be set to make stuff to sell (please, please please) for at least 6 months or more.

So, taking a lesson from LuvH8 I go dancing out the door towards the kitchen.

The first time I got glasses I was amazed there were signs all over downtown (Brownsville in the early ‘60’s) telling what the stores were. I had been counting steps from the car….and of course it was different each time. Going back to school I found those cheaters had been copying the alphabet from the cards above the blackboard…….

You have to establish the mother/ daughter trust, and sometimes you have to tell her things that she may not want to hear, but that is very important for her to understand it. I may not be a mother, heck I’m far from it, but I’m giving you my honest opinion.

It is a parental unit’s duty to embarass her child once in a while. It never seems to work out that way though. Or not that often.

I think The Boyfriend is going home after this movie. I am tired, I have actually been tired all day. Don’t know why.

But would she know that it is all in good humor.

Oh, she knows. Also most of her friends like me. This boyfriend has a good sense of humor. So far he is the one I like best.

Not until I drive him home. Since Gma is not supposed to be alone in the house, Monkey 2 watches her and I pick up her friends if their parents are busy.

It is the only place within walking distance. They have famous burgers. I guess my Great Gma started the burgers when she owned the place.

I tucked my grandma into bed about a half an hour ago. She had so much energy today, that I’m pooped just for having to take care of her, but I had fun, and so did she.

I like it when she does nice things without expecting anything in return. She took the news really well, even before I offered to pick up people to come over. Sure she is disappointed not to be going out as much, but I am proud of her.

That’s wonderful to hear, Big Sister.

It is great that you had fun, and it nice of you to spend so much time with your grandma.

I always have fun with my grandma, Heck sometimes she thinks that she is my age.
