Israel gets deferential treatment because of the holocaust — I get that. But they are a terrible ally. The reason politicians in the US can’t do more about them is because the pro-Israel lobby is so strong here. But they really have been a bad neighbor to the surrounding countries, a bad ally, and horrible in their treatment of Palestinians. I wish it were simple to cut ties with them (or even stop weapons shipments) but it’s virtually impossible as a political reality. If Biden does that, then Trump wins the election, and Republicans would encourage more devastation not only in Gaza but the West Bank. Did you see how supposed moderate Republican Nikki Haley signed an IDF artillery shell with “Finish Them”?
hamas is still in control of everything. The only way peace “may” happen is if all the hostages are released and the entire tunnel network is flooded with sea water with Egypts help.
