Most journalists do agree that the press and media is kinda screwed up and needs to be fixed.

Crash Davis: You’re gonna have to learn your clichés. You’re gonna have to study them, you’re gonna have to know them. They’re your friends. Write this down: “We gotta play it one day at a time.”

Ebby Calvin LaLoosh: Got to play… it’s pretty boring.

Crash Davis: ‘Course it’s boring, that’s the point. Write it down.

The “star” would freeze up at an original question.

This is why Gregg Popovich does what Gregg Popovich does when reporters ask stupid, trite, questions of him. He’s on a lone crusade to get sports journalists to put some thought into their craft.

When did it become a thing for sideline announcers and game commentators to ask a coach or player, “How does it feel?” It’s a stupid and unanswerable question that invariably results in even more stupid responses.
