We live where there are a lot of ranches and farms. Between the local high school and the animal shelter is a very long street that is mostly those. All along that street are horses, cattle, goats, sheep, etc. One piece of land is owned by the sister in law of one of my husbands’ former co-workers. (she retired about 6 yrs ago) Anyway…her brother and his wife raised goats. I loved watching the babies and they never minded if we stopped to pet them or, if the grandkids were out with them, holding the babies. I just found out that they decided to stop raising the goats; this couple is getting older and the kids are older teenagers and heading for college so are not around as much to help out. I’ll miss the baby goats. Another ranch a few properties away, has sheep. OMG! When lambs are born, it’s SO cute watching them romp and jump! The ex-coworkers raises beef so when she has calves, I get to stop by and pet them. My husband is a cowboy and spends a lot of time over at a ranch where Mike has team events so when there are baby horses, if they aren’t nursing, I get to go there and pet them.
