“It was miraculous. It was almost no trick at all, he saw, to turn vice into virtue and slander into truth, impotence into abstinence, arrogance into humility, plunder into philanthropy, thievery into honor, blasphemy into wisdom, brutality into patriotism, and sadism into justice. Anybody could do it; it required no brains at all. It merely required no character.”Joseph Heller, Catch-22

Best of both worlds, Mamala inherits the strongest economy in the world (hmm, Mamala was a typo but i like it…) without the face voters associate with the moment they noticed inflation. Workers’ real net income is demonstrably better than 2019, the last year Trump wants credit for (understandable, he killed millions in 2020). She has no investment with Netanyahu and can hold his feet to the fire on behalf of Palestine while continuing to frustrate Putin in Ukraine. I’ll leave the last word to Thomas Edsall in the Times, who gives the last word to Timothy Snyder, a historian at Yale and an expert on the regimes of Stalin and Hitler:

It would be closer to the truth to think about a second Trump administration beginning from the images of Jan. 6, 2021. That is where Trump left us and that is where he would begin.

Trump is in the classic dictatorial position: He needs to die in bed holding all executive power to stay out of prison. This means that he will do whatever he can to gain power, and once in power will do all that he can to never let it go. This is a basic incentive structure which underlies everything else. It is entirely inconsistent with democracy.

    NY TIMES FInancial Section—April 4,2024

Brothers Michael and Gerald Shvartsman pleaded guilty in an 18 million dollar fraud scheme built around insider trading on Donald Trump’s new social media company.

14 million of the stolen money was used to buy a new yacht, which they named “Provocateur”

Their plea bargain cut a possible 20 years sentence to no more than 5 possible years. Afterward, they face deportation to their native Canada.

Yep,these Trumpites sure know how to responsibly manage the economy, don’t they?

There is wonderment as to why there is so much hate and verbal war, especially on comic comment sites. Perhaps it is the result of having been vaxxed withmRNA-CIVID-19. A study published in the International Journal of Vaccine Theory, Practice, and Research concluded (in part) that the vaccine was indeed responsible for “brain disorders.” To partially add to that: encephalitis, meningitis, myelitis, nervous system disorders, cerebrovascular events, facial palsy, and more. Perhaps now we can all better understand the “weirdo’s” comments. Please rate this screed for “weirdness”.

President Obama called for unity – and for tolerating those with different views. “We start thinking that the only way to win is to scold and shame and out-yell the other side,” he said. “And after a while, regular folks just tune out, or don’t bother to vote at all.”

The International Journal of Vaccine Theory, Practice, and Research cited above by Kat is a fake journal produced by anti-vaxxers. Recently a study in Nature considered the occurrences of journals of questionable quality that have begun to proliferate. I sure can guarantee that I have been approached by such journals in emails to my personal (not professional) account asking me to publish in them. It is usually clear that they haven’t a clue what my area of expertise is. It’s all a scam to make money one way or another.

Robert F Kennedy Jr has announced he will address his “path forward” amid reports in the US media that he will end his presidential bid and endorse Donald Trump.Trump and his running-mate JD Vance said they would support the independent ending his campaign to align with their Republican ticket against Democratic nominees Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.Mr Kennedy said on Wednesday that he would “address the nation” on Friday about his path forward, but has not said what that will be.

    . . .

Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr, meanwhile told conservative radio host Glenn Beck that he would “love the idea” of Mr Kennedy joining a future Trump administration.“I love the idea of giving him some sort of role in some sort of major three-letter entity or whatever it may be and let him blow it up,” he said. – BBC

_Yeah. The party of peace and love – but not a heII of a lot of DECENCY OR RESPECT._
