mentions one of them in his above post. Also, this sequence seems more realistic to me, at least based
on my own school experiences, than the more predictable
outcome of the teacher getting angry , hurt or offended.
When I was just getting into cartooning around seventh or eighth grade, a kid in my homeroom asked me to draw
caricatures of our principal, vice principal and our homeroom teacher, who also was our science teacher.
Fast-forward three or four days later. The drawings, which
were not flattering, were found and taken to the school office. I was called in and all three of these people were
there! But, they were laughing!
The drawings were posted on the office bulletin board,
and now, almost 40 years later, i’m still not sure whether
to feel proud or just lucky.
Teachers have a tough enough job when real problems occur, which they often do. But, it helps when they have the insight to know when kids are just being kids.
