I got my start in the newspaper industry at the very bottom: residential newspaper deliveries.
Given the conditions under which I frequently found myself having to drive, I developed a few habits that people sometimes try to dog me over… until, that is, they themselves have a taste of what I was up against and why I developed those habits in the first place.
For example, I generally try to do a few miles per hour below the speed limit, as that gives me a little bit of extra reaction time. This often results in people getting after me, and more than a few other drivers have tried to slingshot around me. But when you’re throwing papers in a part of down that’s overrun by deer during the overnight hours and Bambi is big enough to break your windshield, you learn the importance of that extra reaction time.

I have always been a good driver, it’s my short game on the greens that need help. Could I need a new putter???
