Fred is judging dogs by human standards.

I thought Fred was nicer than that.

Oh, Fred. Many people’s reaction when they see a basset is to laugh. (With delight, of course.)

Dog or Human …. We are … what we are ;-)

Jock probably has similar feelings about Fred.

Am I the only one that thinks it looks like Fred is sniffing Jack’s butt in the last panel?

Character is much more important than looks, Fred!

Good thing Fred has a secondary means of judging. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have any friends at all!

We love our scruffy terriers just because of all that!

If you really want a shock, look at fawn-colored Great Danes and Chihuahuas side by side. Nearly the same, except in one very important detail….

I noticed that the typeface looked different today (italics). I went back a bit and it seems Sunday Fred strips usually use italics. Interesting…I guess.
