But you can go back to your career after the kids are in school if you want to. Experience doesn’t go away and you’re gaining valuable resume experience with all you do to keep your home running safely and happily.
I guess it depends on which is harder to get, a degree or find a good man. As a woman gets older there are fewer and fewer eligible males. So Elly is better off than Connie since she has something it’s harder to obtain.
Lynn’s overdoing Connie’s fixation on catching any man from a quirk to a pathology, so much that this storyline is going from funny to sad. And Connie never does have a happy enduring relationship, does she (at least not for ten years) - why are we not surprised.
It doesn’t matter how much you have accomplished in life if you don’t have the fulfill the little girl dream of becoming a MRS. Women’s lib still has a long ways to go.
Time to move on, Lynn. You’re boring us to death. I’ve got an idea. Let’s jump a decade or so and have April. It will make the comic fun again. Or let us see a younger Jim and his first wife. Hey, even a root canal would be more entertaining than this whine-fest.

A great family beats a job, no matter how good the job is.

Wow, this strip started out whiny.

No Elly, you didn’t give up your career, you changed it–as motherhood is very definitely a fulltime job.

The one doing all the whining, just sits there and watches the other one doing everything by herself.

Here’s a thought…Lose some weight, quit dressing like a frump and quit complaining about your ex, your job and your life to every guy you meet.

Fortunately, my family consists of a wife and a Lab, named Cleo. So I can’t even imagine.

Maybe Connie would have a better time attracting a mate, if she wasn’t so fixated on it. Desperate women are repulsive.

Whining is fun. It’s, like, a national pastime.
