I have aphantasia. I didn’t realize I was different in that regard from most people. I realized that I could not picture my mother’s face. I started asking others and they could visualize their mother’s face.
It’s not just faces. For example, I can’t picture a 1969 Dodge Charger (one of my favorite musclecars) or anything else for that matter. I can get monentary flashes, but it’s almost like I’m remembering what I should be visualizing.
I’ve always been this way, it’s not a problem. I do think being able to visualize processes in my mind could have some advantages, but the lack of that ability is the least of my worries / concerns / regrets.
