“Trump-supported activist put on leave from employer after gay p0rn reports”
“A school-privatization activist and frequent Fox News guest whose work has been praised by former President Donald Trump was placed on leave by his conservative nonprofit employer after reports that he had appeared in gay p0rnography videos surfaced. – NBC News”
(Y’know, you really can’t make this stuff up!)
A representative for Fox News did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
‘Course not, they’re busy calling corporate to see how in Hades to handle THIS one!
The FFs didn’t get it wrong. They just could not imagine that someone who would violate a couple hundred years of norms and precedents would ever get the support he has. They could not imagine corporations getting a strangle hold on the economy. They could not imagine Fox ‘news’ and the right wing media structure.
But here we are. Almost half the country believes the Tariff Fairy is going to eliminate the national debt, ‘in a very short time I believe’ and eliminate the need for taxes of any kind.
1776 Americans had their own issues, rivalries, foibles, strengths; there were goofballs, smart guys, scammers, hypocrites, “sinners”, and so on… because, people.
Um, 1787, unless you’re talking about sticking with King George… So, back when Republicans were the good guys, 1860-1929, they rigged the electoral college and the senate by admitting the western territories as 15 states instead of the 2 or 3 their populations would have prescribed. Interestingly, Nate Cohn thinks their advantage may be going away. Cross your fingers…
Edsall has an exasperating piece about the condition that has us constantly tearing our hair, The ‘Motivated Ignorance’ That Keeps Trump Relevant, “The mystery of 2024: How is it possible that Donald Trump has a reasonable chance of winning the presidency despite all that voters now know about him? Why hasn’t a decisive majority risen up to deny a second term to a man in line to be judged the worst president in American history?”
The Founding Fathers would be greatly disappointed with the way Democrats are ruining America’s economy and causing financial misery among American workers.
Our Founders got it right. They had the same opposition to our Liberty and Freedoms as we do today. Our Founders were Liberals. They didn’t stifle the competition, they preferred people choose. It was and is conservatives who opposed our independence in 1774. conservatives quit the U.S. in 1860. conservatives invaded, made war and killed U.S. soldiers from 1861 to 1865. A conservative killed Lincoln. Every Republican/conservative president since 1929 has had a depression or recession, some had two. The only president to resign his office in disgrace of being a crook was a conservative. The only violent transition of power came in 2021 supported by conservatives and led by the fascist insurrectionist tRump. conservatives still defend and support him and his insurrection.conservatives are the enemy of the United States of America, and have been since 1774.
The discussion under Sun’s fact free comment is worthwhile but I don’t want to add to his thread. No amount of scolding is going to persuade people who don’t care or can’t afford the time to care about the realities of economics. People will be people, “I got a raise because I deserve it, rising prices cheat me out of it.” Nobody wants to hear the statistics that their pay has risen more than inflation. We can only continue showing facts and hope that they’ll get through. The “Explainer in chief” needs to be out on the trail. What was the line about Clinton? “Putting the hay where the goats can get to it.”
“I will protect women at a level never seen before. They will finally be healthy, hopeful, safe and secure. Their lives will be happy, beautiful and great again!” Trump said, without evidence.
WHEN, DonOLD? In two weeks – three, tops?
Or have you only CONCEPTS of your stable genius’ protection, like the ACA replacement you’ve been “working on” for NINE YEARS?
SPEAK UP, WE CAN BARELY HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF GUNSHOTS FROM YOUR PAST SUPPORTERS YOU’VE BETRAYED.

Yep. That’s accurate. Probably would involve some additions to the Constitution as a result.

Going back will not help. Especially to the beginning of the Revolutionary War. We might lose in the second attempt.
