We cherish dogs because their unblemished souls make us wish – consciously or unconsciously – that we were as innocent as they are, and make us yearn for a place where innocence is universal and where the meanness, the betrayals, and the cruelties of this world are unknown.” A Big Little Life: A Memoir of a Joyful Dog (2009) Dean Koontz
So wonderful to see a happy ending to this story! When I first started reading Gocomics years ago, it was just Red and Rover, my most beloved strip. For weeks I was afraid to write in the comments section, but finally got up the nerve, and now feel comfortable and ‘at home’ here. Thank you, Brian for a wonderful strip!
That is so true. Today I had to take my dog Shilo to the Vet’s to have his nails clipped and and injection for inflamed skin. He’s alright getting injections but absolutely HATES getting his nails done. He just struggles to get away from the clippers and it is quite a job for the vet and I to see to him. Still, when we got home he forgave me and even came up for a cuddle. Dogs are just so amazing and we are so lucky to have them.
I love this strip and read it in the Orange County Register. However, they don’t print the Sunday edition, so I am glad to get it here. Thank you for sharing your talents with us, Brian!

He’s nine or ten, depending what I was doing in my childhood that inspires me to create.

To err is human. To forgive is not company policy.
