Very little fazes a golden. Remarkably cheerful no matter the situation. German shepherds and other breeds used for search and rescue tend to become depressed when they aren’t finding anyone or only finding the dead. They want a happy ending as much as their humans do.
My therapy dog sometimes needs me for therapy after she has had a rough day at the hospital. She seems to take on the emotions of the patients. She still loves her work.
