I put a suction-cup-base bird feeder on my window. The birds liked it. My cat Vivekat started doing odd workouts on the patio. I watched her on the far side of the patio doing leaps, several times a day.
Two weeks later, while I was on the phone, I could see a bird at the feeder. When I looked back, the bird was gone and Vivekat was carrying it away.
I moved the bird feeder a foot higher on the window. Vivekat went back into training. Two weeks later, she was once again plucking birds off the feeder.
I had to take it down. It had become a cat-feeder. I had never seen a cat literally training for a specific task. Brilliant.

No birds to mess it up again and the cat has been fed. Win-win!

You need to be really specific in the job description and remuneration schedule.

Can you get them to eat the squirrels too? Then I’d really save on bird seed.
