The “rubes” got more goof than usual. Velocipede musta came from the word velocity.

I don’t see Boog’s name on that list. I always thought he was a good boy.

Looked it up. Velocipede, a type of bicycle, usually the kind with one big wheele and one small wheele.

So glad to get a reprieve from those three little girls!

Velocipedes has been around since ~1815 ish… popular, in various models through the 1890s. By 1924 they were veritable antiques.

Skeezix wrote pretty well for a three-year-old!

I believe that this is the first time it has been acknowledged in-strip that Skeezix is over 100 years old.

Skeezix would have been almost four years old back then. Who calls a four year-old a baby? And would you get an earful if you did.

Speedy the elf looks like Joel. That explains Joel’s short stature.

Notice how the elf on the last 3 panels looks like the Sad Sack.
