Distracting Gracie with books so that Baldo can enjoy the empanadas by himself. That is Baldo preying on one of Gracie’s weaknesses.

So where did the books come from? There were books in the house she didn’t know about? He couldn’t have gone out to buy them before the empanadas were done.

My niece has 3 teenage boys active in sports; it’s never ending meal-time.
