Haven’t we had enough of the mice? Plus, the one in the dress gives me the creeps.

Guys, half this comic strip is about mice. If you don’t like the mice, then that means you don’t actually like the strip. Saying you like the strip but without all the mouse jokes is like sayhing you’d like it better if there weren’t any pirates in it.

I’ve read Overboard since the early ’90s, when it started, and can report that the now-tiresome mice are a relatively recent addition. But, hey, it’s just a comic strip. Long live Louie!

The strip is about pirates, and Louie. As was said by richardj, the mice are a relatively new addition, and I, for one, don’t care for them.

Wow, I thought the calls for mousetraps were just gentle ribbing. Are they really that annoying? (I, for one, loved the scene when Capt. Crow had to lie on his stomach to engage Jonas the Mouse in a swordfight) The humor in this strip has not really changed a whole lot over the years, it’s just that many pirates have disappeared in favor of gags involving the cartoonist, dogs, mice, and sea monsters. I miss the older ones, but I have to admit Chip can do more with these characters than he could with just pirates.
