I remember when you had to pay the phone company extra to get caller ID. Today it comes automatically, and you have to pay extra for your number to not show up on caller ID.
My landline phone has been working for well over 20 years although I did have to replace the curly cord connecting the handset to the base more than once. I like it because it has a large display so I can read the caller id easily.
