Ahead of the official start of his second presidency, trump is slamming the United States as a “disaster” on social media.
A New York Times report published Sunday morning lays out how current statistics defy the president-elect’s claim.
“New data reported in the past few days indicate that murders are way down, illegal immigration at the southern border has fallen even below where it was when Trump left office and roaring stock markets finished their best two years in a quarter-century”.
“Jobs are up, wages are rising and the economy is growing faster then it did during Trump’s presidency,” Times continues. “Unemployment is as low as it was just before the Covid-19 pandemic and near its historic best. Domestic energy production is higher than it has ever been,”.
Furthermore, “the America that Trump will inherit from President Biden” beginning January 20 “is actually in better shape than that bequeathed to any newly elected president since George W. Bush came into office in 2001.”
And bush trashed that economy just as trump trashed the economy that Obama left him. Dems fix it, get running at peak performance, cons trash it. #SSDD
According to the Constitution, trump, as an orchestrater of a seditious conspiracy, can never hold public office again. This disqualification nullifies any electoral college votes for him.
trump’s candidacy was only viable because of the partisan justices he appointed to the Supreme Court:
(1) disabled the insurrection clause of the 14th Amendment (which should otherwise have barred him from holding office again) and
(2) shielded him from standing trial before the election for trying to overturn the 2020 results or for hoarding classified documents (which would have kept his criminality in full view of the electorate, and possibly rendered his candidacy a non-starter due to a jail sentence or loss of support). In any other country, we would understand that as part of an autocratic takeover, not a democratic victory.
A kind of stupidity unseen in modern times: trump, Musk and their fellow billionaires are asking working class Americans to sacrifice so they can make more money — and hamster-brained MAGA morons are so assertively dumb, they’re actually going along with it. In the name of blind tradition, they will gleefully hand over the country to band of known fascists who have openly stated that they intend to tear the whole thing down and punish all opposition, real and mostly imagined.
It may be a new year but we’re about to get a four year rerun starting on the 20th. Fortunately it’s MLK Jr. day so we do have something to be thankful for. I’m surprised DJT isn’t skawking about that -- yet.
I’m celebrating random unknown holidays of the day as my resolution. Like yesterday was National Bird Day and today is National Cuddle Day. There’s a lot more than just those ones, but you get the idea!

A good year indeed, and things will improve when 46 is booted out from office.

No snark just truth.
