The local symphony backed Moody Blues once, the symphony’s road crew was issued ear plugs. Symphony attendee who were not aware of who Moody Blues who sat in the front row, left at intermission.
We used to have a punk band when I was younger—my younger sister played drums, I played my beautiful Gibson Les Paul (black with mother-of-pearl trim, oh gawd it was lovely) and our friend played her very cool Rickenbacker bass. Our parents (hard working, conservative teetotalers) let us set up the drums in the living room and practice at our house. Pretty darn cool parents! And yeah, we got the neighbors’ knocks on the door a couple times!

I read that after one concert, Meatloaf found his ears were bleeding!! I take earplugs to the movies as the ads are around 140DB, I think.
