    Odds of winning the Powerball lottery are something like 395 million to one. So I don’t mind playing it occasionally when the winner’s pot is well above $395 million (so odds are more than the pot. Even better when 2 or three times more to account for taxes, etc). But can’t understand why people play it when its $20 million. It’s sort of like me having a deck of cards and asking you to bet $5 to name the card you will draw. Then offering you $5 winnings if you guess it, while your odds would be 52 to one against guessing it correctly. As has been said, the lottery is for people who are bad at math.
