Today’s MdJ is less about Minnie’s (the dog) chew toy Mr. Meenky (he’s still stuck in the garbage disposal) and more about our current obsession with our current obsession: self reflection on steroids. If you’re not constantly looking inward in response to or in anticipation of every single experience that comes your way today you’re missing out on…nothing. Nobody cares and that you have elevated “you” is important only to you. This is commonly referred to as “navel gazing” and it’s pretty self explanatory. It’s also symptomatic of hypochondria or in extreme cases industrial strength self -absorption.
Get on a plane, train, bus, highway. Everybody’s on a “journey” going on a trip. The word “tripping” was what they used to call taking LSD. It’s effects could be stimulating, pleasurable. And in some cases it could lead to an unpleasant, sometimes terrifying experience called a “bad trip”. Today it seems like everybody’s chosen the latter and navel-gazing experts all agree -nobody cares. -ML

I had a garbage upheaval system installed; much safer than a garbage disposal.
