Donna could probably use some shots before she goes, all right; just maybe not the kind she has in ā€œmindā€ (I use the term loosely).

Iā€™ve driven through Alabama several times. Itā€™s not a whole lot different from the rest of the south. If you treat people with respect and donā€™t try to provoke them, they wonā€™t hassle you. Iā€™ve never had the slightest bit of trouble there, and I am not southern.

Look you either go or you donā€™t, itā€™s that simple.

I was stationed in Montgomery, back when Gov GW blocked the schoolhouse door. Being from VT, AL was quite a culture shock for me. But I did appreciate the southern belles. ā˜¼

Iā€™ve lived in Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, on all three coasts, in the deserts, mountains and midwest, and the south in both Mississippi and alabama, and I can assure you that people are people everywhere, with very similar cares and concerns. Like Edcole1961 says, treat people with respect and donā€™t try to provoke them and youā€™ll get along just fine.

Question: Whatā€™s the mating call of the Southern Belle?

Answer: Hoo-WHEE, ahā€™ve had too much to drink!

Drove through Alabama during my travels in the States. I did not get to spend much time there although Birmingham seemed nice. Stayed in a hotel outside the city itself in a place called Bessemer.
