I feel like a teenager – one that aged prematurely.

People remark how young I look for my age. I don’t have many wrinkles. That’s because of the medication I’m taking for my hypertension makes me sensitive to sunlight so I have to use sunblock and avoid prolonged sunlight like some kind of vampire. I wish I felt like I look on the inside.

I was a curmudgeon at 14 and still am, but didn’t have arthritis then.

I’m 71, and am still waiting to find out what “old” feels like. I mean, I have my aches and pains (along with two fake joints), but I thought that at some point being old actually meant feeling different. I had aches and pains when I was ten (though not for the same reasons). And whoever coined the phrase “older and wiser”… if anything, I feel less “wise” today than I did when I was half this age…

But enough kvetching. I’m still riding motorcycles and paddling kayaks and brewing beer and going to rock ‘n’ roll shows with my daughter. Aches and pains and fake joints are a small price to pay.

HBP and Osteoporosis, don’t fall and don’t exert yourself getting up if you did fall.
