I assumed they were from a comic or cartoon that I’m unfamiliar with.

Who are the two in the bottom panel?

For people of a certain age (ahem, like myself), I love seeing flashbacks of old cartoons & comics I enjoyed as a kid.

Good job! I could hear Poindexter’s voice as he spoke. Too lazy to look it up, but is this cartoon where the idea of calling a nerd “Poindexter” come from?

I remember Felix, but I have to admit I knew nothing of the Professor or Poindexter until I watched a YouTube video just now with both of them in it. Today’s strip features an amazing likeness of both of them.
