There is, I am sure, a cohort of kids who would gladly seize on chips shaped like insects. Not unlike a horde of locusts, ironically.

Give him chocolate covered grasshoppers or ants. Crunchy and tastes good!

There are fried grasshoppers and crickets, maybe kids would want to eat them as a snack.

    Insect chips sounded more interesting.

There was a start-up selling cricket chips. The idea was that crickets are a cheap source of protein and all they had to do was get people to try them and maybe the market could take off. All good intentions and logical sense in terms of planetary diets and all that but actually eating them was another matter. I bought a bag as a gag (not too literally please) gift to a friend’s and they were looked at dubiously and then poured in a bowl, ie away from the label on the bag. I ate a few. Other people ate a few. We decided they were okaaaaay, but felt no great need to ever do that again.

Those were not the responses I was expecting. I anticipated a bit more excitement and even a little envy from Eddie
