Years ago, the cat treats came in small cardboard boxes — different boxes, different colors, different flavors. I would put the boxes on the counter and our cat would push one over — that’s the flavor she wanted. If I gave her treats from a different box, she ignored them. If I was late for treat-time, she would nudge open the cupboard door and pull one out.
The boxes, like Temptation bags and tubs, were bright colors — pink, yellow, red, lime green, etc. but cats can only see a few distinct colors [yellow, blue]; they see others as shades of grey. So I’ve always assumed that different flavors have different scents. Either that or she had learned to read.

A friend caught her two cats working in tandem to dig a bag of ‘Temptations’ out of her kitchen cabinet!
