I remember once getting the very first appointment at my doctor’s surgery, before there could be any delays. She showed up three quarters of an hour late.

    (She’s a good doctor though).

Sorry about that but here’s what we primary care docs have to do in 15 minutes: Assess the patient, take pertinent history, check the meds and vitals, check for all health/cancer screenings, depression screening, Social HX including sexual history, physical exam, assessment of illness, health, and plan, prescribe meds, devices (glucose monitors). After that we get to code to prove we did what we said we did. The new medical students are smart. They’re not going into to primary care. It’s too much of a burden. I want to retire but primary care does not pay well. I do high quality work, though, and my patients know it.

So because some doctor did you wrong you are going to punish some other doctor because he is also a doctor. I thought we decided not to punish people for who they are, but instead for what they do.
