Andy can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t pay close attention to their beer. Of course that works in his favor.

Modern technology never feels right in this toon. In fact, it feels more out of place here than it does in “Wizard of I’d” or “B.C.”!

I can remember a strip where a young man in the pub was excitedly getting a betting tip by text. He looked at it a moment, then said, "Either there is a horse called “Useless Git” or this text is from my wife." Sounds as though she and Flo would be sisters under the skin.

In the next panel, they’re standing outside a yard. A sign says ‘Hands wanted.’ Flo asks, “What’s the wages?” and a foreman replies, “We’ll pay ‘im what ’e’s worth.”
