One night I was having dinner with my husband & father-in-law. We were talking about Christmas. There were a lot of ET merchandise out at the time, including an ET Finger that you put on your finger, touch something, and it would light up. They brought up something ET-related for my husband to get for his younger sister. Without thinking, I blurted out, “Why don’t you give her the Finger?” My father-in-law, looked at me with an ironic smile, and responded, “I’m sure he has…many times.” (Man, I miss him.)
